The Dressember Foundation is currently seeking a PART-TIME Communications Manager IN LOS ANGELES to join the team and manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of select communications activities.

The candidate for this role will be a digital native and an excellent communicator. They will be responsible for developing a communications and content strategy for online, email, and social media outlets.  This will include Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and other channels as appropriate. They will also be responsible for maintaining and updating copy and creating email campaign strategy.

While this is a remote, Part-Time position, the ideal candidate is in the LA area and able to meet in person, on a weekly basis at minimum. The ideal candidate will be able to work individually as a disciplined, self starter, as well as in a team-based environment. S/he will be an innovative thinker, a passionate professional, with a positive, can-do attitude.

This position is an hourly contracted position with potential to eventually join our team in a full-time, salaried position with benefits.


Position Responsibilities

•Develop social and online media strategies, including short-term and long-term goals, key activities, detailed timelines and responsibilities, and evaluation methods
•Lead the communications aspects of the Dressember campaign, including copywriting, earned media, social media, and regular monitoring of online metrics. 
•Oversee and manage Dressember editorial interns to collectively develop, write, and edit an assortment of content, including reports, briefs, fact sheets, brochures, op-eds, and infographics. 
•Collaborate with key staff to identify high-impact opportunities to increase the visibility of our advocacy and programmatic efforts, and to generate email list and social media audience growth.
•Write and edit compelling online content including emails, social media posts, videos, landing pages, and actions to engage Dressember’s audiences to participate in campaigns.
•Maintain Dressember’s presence and profiles across primary social media channels, monitor social media trends and emerging practices, write and edit social posts and campaign content, maintain the publishing calendar and schedule posts, and develop advertising content for Facebook and Twitter.
•Track and monitor the success of social media and online engagement initiatives, and develop reports for staff on Dressember’s social media metrics and analytics.
•Lead the content and management of:

•Develop and manage monthly e-newsletter, including content coordination across staff, interns, copywriting, design, and contact management. 
•Ensure message discipline and brand consistency across Dressember’s print and digital materials.
•Help craft internal templates, guidelines, and protocols for managing communications needs.
•Supervise partners and vendors as appropriate to specific projects.



Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or other relevant major (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
  • Strong brand storytelling strategy; experience engaging audiences in a compelling way
  • Working experience in web/social media and familiarity with content management systems.
  • Experience managing multiple social media channels in a face-paced environment
  • Experience managing a team
  • Experience producing video, photo and text based content
  • Experience working on national/multinational brands would be a plus but not required
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
