Why did you design your dress the way you did?
As a curvy, body positivity enthusiast, I am always looking for clothing that complements my shape. I like to find clothes that I wear and not clothes that wear me. I wanted to design a dress that I could feel beautiful and confident in, a dress that complemented my curves and celebrated my body. I chose the strapless element because one of my favorite parts of my body is my collarbones, I love strapless shirts and dresses that draw attention to that feature. I also added pockets because who doesn't love a dress with pockets?!
Why does Dressember’s mission of a world without slavery resonate with you?
Goodness, I think my whole life has become about learning more and more what it means to experience freedom. Freedom in my body, freedom in my voice and overall freedom in my existence. My main demographic is women, ALL women, that includes the the women in captivity. I want them and ALL people to know they are valued and worthy despite where they come from or the life obstacles they find themselves in.
What is something you’re proud of right now?
So much. I'm honestly pretty proud of life right now. Currently working on a meditation album and excited for that to release!
