If you're looking for an opportunity to use your time and talent to further engage in the fight to end slavery, a Dressember internship might be for you! We are currently hiring interns for our Fall/Winter season. Please refer to specific positions for start and end dates.

Please note that all internships are unpaid positions, and college internship credit is available upon request. Applicants must be 20 years or older by start date of the internship.

+ Editorial Internship


This is a remote internship open to all US residents.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

As an Editorial Intern, you’ll work directly with one of our trained editors to to produce original editorial pieces for publishing on the Dressember blog. Your weekly prompts will cover a wide range of topics surrounding the issue of human trafficking, equipping you with a better understanding of this complex and nuanced injustice. Through research and reflection, you’ll garner valuable writing experience and have the opportunity to have your work seen by advocates around the world.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • Experience with Google Suite a plus
  • Experience with editorial work / research a plus

+ Events Internship


This is a Los Angeles based internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - December 2019

You'll work with our Director of Development and lady boss, Marissa, to plan and implement our 4th Annual Dressember Kick Off Party happening on Thursday, November 21, 2019 (must be available from 12pm onwards). You'll get firsthand experience preparing and monitoring budgets, coordinating with vendors and venues, and communicating with all participants which include vendors, sponsors and volunteers. You'll participate as an active member of the Development team including event sponsorship, fundraising initiatives, and post event donor management.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • Prior event management experience, nonprofit volunteer or professional experience a plus
  • Established knowledge of social media, and event management platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive a plus
  • Must be highly organized and able to work independently.

+ Communications Internship


This is a Los Angeles based internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

As a Communication's Intern, you'll work directly with Dressember's Communication Manager to create and publish content for our social media platforms. You'll learn the ins and outs of the StoryBrand concept and become a pro at identifying the key concepts that build solid and clear communication. You'll work through Dressember's integrated calendar and learn how to implement communications strategy across a wide range of social media platforms.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • You should be someone fascinated with storytelling
  • You should have a solid grasp of who Dressember is as an organization
  • Past social media experience is a huge plus
  • An understanding of social media platforms is essential

+ Community Engagement Internship


This is a Los Angeles based internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

You'll participate as an active member of the Development team. This is 75% events & outreach where you will strategize and execute plans to increase Dressember’s visibility among the local community, and across Greater Los Angeles by attending and participating in community led events. You'll assist in planning and implementing the 4th Annual Dressember Kick Off Party, Thursday, November 21, 2019 (must be available from 12pm onwards). You'll explore opportunities to engage community groups with Dressember; high schools, universities, churches, etc. You will strategize with the Development intern on a high school / university ambassador program. This includes 25% volunteer management where you'll oversee recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the Kick Off Party and act as the day of volunteer coordinator for the Kick Off Party. You'll equip volunteers with resources and potentially host a volunteer orientation.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • You must be local to Orange County/ Los Angeles and have reliable transportation
  • You will need to be available some evenings and Saturdays
  • Prior event management and / or community outreach experience, nonprofit volunteer, internship, or professional experience a plus
  • It is great if you are already actively involved in the LA or OC community

+ Graphic Design Internship


This is a remote internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

You'll work directly with the Dressember team to create graphic designs for social media, online awareness resources, and Dressember events. You'll work within our style guide to creatively spread awareness through graphics. Your designs will reach an international audience of over 90,000!

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • Must have experience with graphic design
  • Must have an eye for creativity
  • Experience in Adobe Illustrator a plus

+ IT/Technical Internship


This is a remote internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

You'll work with the Dressember team to troubleshoot tech problems and innovate our platforms.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • Must have experience with coding
  • Must have experience with troubleshooting

+ Administrative Internship


This is a Los Angeles based internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

You'll work with our Administrative/Operations Bosslady & the rest of the Dressember team. In this position, you'll experience the inner-workings of a rapidly growing non-profit, and have the chance to engage and support our community of advocates. You'll work within our general email inbox and strengthen your admin skills.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • You're a friendly go-getter with attention to detail
  • You love supporting others and get excited about interacting with like-minded individuals
  • Past admin experience a plus but not required
  • Past experience with Dressember is essential for thriving in this role

+ Development Internship


This is a Los Angeles based OR Remote internship.

Time Investment: 10 hours/week from September 2019 - February 2020

You'll provide advocate support for Dressember advocates around the world. You'll strategize with our Development boss-babe to implement creative recruitment and cultivation efforts for new Dressember advocates and supporters. This could include attending local Dressember events, supporting a thank-you process for supporters; including emails, cards, and call. You'll participate as an active member of the Development team and work with the administrative team on data entry. You'll strategize with Community Engagement intern on a high school / university ambassador program.

Experience / qualifications:

  • Must be 20 years of age or older by September 2019
  • You have experience navigating and using donor database CRMs (e.g., Donor Perfect, Classy, etc.)
  • You have prior nonprofit experience in a development related role (can be voluntary or intern level)
  • You must be comfortable talking on the phone
